Sweet Sixteen! Yes its that age where you are at your last year of high school and what a better way to end it than your high school prom.
You want to be the bell of the ball but unsure on how to have your makeup? Well here are some useful hints and tips....
Start with a good canvas, make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin so it is all fresh and prepped ready for applying your makeup. To start your makeup I always recommend a primer, however if you don't have one then a good moisturiser will just be as effective. Apply your foundation to your skin and blend with your fingers... (yes it is okay to blend with your fingers!). Once you have your base start with your eyebrows... use a soft brow pencil or powder and carefully fill in your eyebrows... Remember follow the natural arch of your brow and keep them looking soft.
Eyes! You want your eyes to stand out :) To start... highlight under the brows and sockets using a pale skin colour. Then pick your base colour... For prom makeups I tend to use pale golds/ baby pinks/ pale lilacs/ pale grey's. Apply this colour to your lid up to the crease line. Then on the crease line use a darker eye-shadow colour to gently define your eyes. Then remember to blend!
To highlight i recommend high beam by Benefit. Apply this to the top of your cheekbones and just under your brows... and... blend... Then choose a pretty blush. Peaches and pinks are pretty for prom. Using a blusher brush... Smile :) and apply to the apple of your cheeks. If you want to add a bronzer and apply gently to your forehead an under your cheekbones.
Last but not least... Lippy! With prom makeup I like to go for bright lippy/s, something bold that's going to make a POP! Pinks and corals are always fab! I recommend Chatterbox by Mac or Ravishing by Mac... But have a look about as there are so many pretty colours out there!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
